The protagonist of Lost Planet 3 is pilot Jim, who left Earth to complete a very difficult and risky task.
but a very lucrative contract with the Neo-Venus Constructions Corporation (NEVEC), which is preparing the planet for colonization.
Arriving at E.D.N. III, Jim joins the pioneers at Coronis Base and sets out to explore uncharted territory
and extraction of samples of thermal energy - the most valuable resource necessary for survival in the extreme conditions of a harsh planet.

The thermal energy reserves owned by NEVEK are running out, so the fate of the colonists´ mission at the Koronis base
depends on natural sources that they can discover and develop.
